PlayStation announced on Twitter that God of War Ragnarök sold 5.1 million copies and became the fastest selling first-party game in PlayStation history. It is also a record for the God of War franchise.

PlayStation exclusive game was launched on November 9 and also sold as a part of the PlayStation 5 bundle. After the supply chain issues, the gaming console was back in stock. Previous God of War sold 3.1 million copies during the first three days of its launch.
PlayStation official account congratulated Sony Santa Monica studios the tweet and shared the milestones.
Previous record holder was The Last of Us II with 4 million copies sold in first week of its launch. The award-winning game ended up selling over 17 million copies.
