Electronic Arts shared the year-end report on its website, and according to the numbers, Apex Legends and FIFA franchises are the most popular games in 2022. FIFA reigned as the king of sports and mobile games, while Apex Legends claimed the top spot as the most popular non-sports franchise.

The report does not include numbers in total player counts, downloads, and play times but has fun metrics for the players. In November, the last report for FIFA 23 stated that 1.7 billion games were played. That number increased to 14 billion at the end of the year.
The report shows that The Sims 4, released in 2014, is still among the most popular games. Again, EA has not shared any details about the number of players in total but shared some fun metrics about the games, like how many Sims were created and the most popular traits. The Sims 4 base was made free-to-play a few months ago and boosted the game.
