Following the successful introduction of the first-ever Bandai Namco Cross Store outside of Japan and the recent opening of the Victoria Place brand store. These new stores, scheduled to open in December, will feature popular collectibles like Gashapon, Ichibankuji, Sun-Star stationery, arcade experiences, and more.
The London-based “Bandai Namco Cross Store” in Camden debuted in the summer, followed by the Victoria Place brand store in November 2023. The upcoming store launches in December include Ealing on the 7th, offering Gashapon, Ichibankuji, and Sun-Star Stationery; Brighton’s North Street on the 12th, featuring arcade games and Gashapon. And Meadowhall Sheffield on the 15th, showcasing Gashapon and Sun-Star Stationery.
The positive reception of these stores in the UK reflects the growing affinity for Bandai Namco’s popular brands in the physical retail space. Plans for further expansion in 2024 include larger stores, tours, and other brand appearances aimed at engaging fans on a national level.
Gashapon, a highlight in these stores, refers to BANDAI’s miniature capsule collectibles and vending machines. The name combines the “clunk (gasha)” sound of the handle turning and the capsule “pops (pon)” out of the machine. The Gashapon Bandai Official Shop specializes in Gashapon, featuring various Bandai products, showcasing beloved Japanese characters and a range of trending miniature collectibles.
