Japanese gaming giant Capcom has released its financial report for the first half of 2022. The report shows a decline in almost every category year-over-year.

The results of the financial report do not come as a surprise since Capcom had a very successful financial year in 2021, and the company’s Q1 2022 report also showed a massive decline in revenue. Capcom’s revenue declined by 30%, operating income declined by 24%, and net income saw a 27% decline.
Capcom’s digital content and game sales have increased by 8%, thanks to Monster Hunter Rise and Devil May Cry 5. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has sold 4.4 million units, and Devil May Cry 5 sold more than 6 million copies. The success of Monster Hunter Rise’s expansion also increased the sales of the original game Monster Hunter Rise with 11 million copies sold.
Arcade operations also saw a 29.7% net sales increase year-over-year. Capcom says the number of visitors has increased compared to last year since the COVID-19 measures have been lifted.
