Gala Games has officially declared its plan to transfer unsold and reserve NFT game items from the Ethereum network to their newly introduced proprietary blockchain, GalaChain. The migration aims to offer gamers the advantage of utilizing their NFTs without incurring Ethereum gas fees. It also enables Gala Games to incorporate more robust web3 functionality into its platform’s titles.
As part of this move, Gala Games will present players with a range of NFT Mystery Boxes, each featuring game items no longer available in the Gala Games Store. Each box will contain three random game items from various titles within the Gala Games Ecosystem, all functioning as tokens on GalaChain. One significant benefit is that these items can now be transferred within the GalaChain without incurring any gas fees, removing the need for substantial gas expenditure for minting, distribution, and revelation, a requirement on the Ethereum Network.
Jason “BitBender” Brink, the President of Blockchain at Gala Games, commented on the momentous significance of this development for web3 gaming. He emphasized, “Bringing NFTs from our games onto our own layer 1 blockchain is a huge step forward. These are game items intended to be used and enjoyed without always worrying about bridges and gas– that’s what GalaChain is designed for!”
To leverage the capabilities of GalaChain effectively, Gala Games has made available 30,204 NFT Mystery Boxes available, catering to a range of price points for the gaming community to access and explore.
