Valve’s video game digital distribution service Steam broke its own record last weekend with over 30 million users online at the same time. Previous record was 27 million concurrent players back in November 2021.

According to SteamDB, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was the top-played game with 1 million players, followed by Dota 2, PUBG, Apex Legends, and Lost Ark during the record-breaking moment. It is important to note that not all 30 million users were actively playing video games, as some were browsing the store or active on community pages. SteamDB shows that only 8.5 million users were in-game at that moment.

Steam Deck’s most played game Vampire Survivors was listed as #41 and contributed to the record with 31,948 players.

Steam’s concurrent players number has been increasing since the pandemic. Steam hit the 15 million concurrent players milestone in 2017 and 20 million in 2020. The following 10 million jump was recorded in five years, almost 70% of it between 2021 and 2022.

This month Steam launched a fully overhauled Steam App with a new design and announced that PlayStation Network accounts can now be linked with Steam accounts.
