Helldivers 2‘s success was further underscored by the popularity of its Super Citizen edition, which offers additional gear and a premium battle pass. Despite its release, the upgrade ranked 13th, highlighting the game’s strong performance.
Several other noteworthy changes were observed among Steam’s weekly global top sellers. Sega’s recent releases, Persona 3 Reload and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, experienced declines of 22 and 26th places, respectively, landing at 25 and 52. However, older titles in both series, Persona 5 Royal and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, reentered the top 100 at 28th and 51st, thanks to significant discounts.
Helldivers 2 conquers the top sellers rank in two positions, the top with the original game and the third place with the Super Citizen Edition.
In the most played list, Palworld grasps the second position with an iron grip only to be surpassed by the immortal legend Counter-Strike.
Discounts played a crucial role in the resurgence of some AAA hits in the top 20. Red Dead Redemption 2 surged 55 positions to claim the 12th spot, while Cyberpunk 2077 rose 20 spots to rank 15th compared to the previous week.
Johan Pilestedt, CEO and creative director of Arrowhead Game Studios, attributed Helldivers 2’s success to its rapid sales, estimating around 1 million copies sold in less than a week. Additionally, the game peaked at 360,000 concurrent players on PS5 and PC over the weekend, with its player count on Steam nearing 200,000 simultaneous users.
