Fans of the 2013 stealth game République and its VR version should remember Camouflaj’s name. The company also went on to make Iron Man VR in 2019 and is now getting ready to launch the game on Meta Quest 2 on November 3.
Camouflaj CEO Ryan Payton shared this message on the company’s official website:
“Eventually shedding our independence was never the plan when I started Camouflaj back in 2011. Everything changed after we met the crew at Oculus Studios, who have treated us with nothing but kindness and respect.”
Texas-based Twisted Pixel Games has several titles under its belt but is best for the 2017 VR horror-adventure game Wilson’s Heart. Another VR game by the company is an action-fighting game named Path of the Warrior. The company has been active since 2006.
Armature is another Texas-based studio and was formed back in 2008. The company has launched original titles like ReCore and Where the Heart Leads. Ports of famous IPs such as Metal Gear Solid, Bayonetta, Borderlands, and Injustice are also included in the studio’s portfolio. Last year, Armature launched Resident Evil 4 VR, the company’s first VR port.
Meta also announced its new VR device, Meta Quest Pro, along with its launch date, pricing, and hardware information. The newly acquired three companies will no doubt make significant contributions to the company’s success in VR games.
