Mobidictum and Neon will bring mobile game professionals together in Cologne on Tuesday, August 25, for an after-hours gathering during Gamescom week.
Taking place at The ASH Köln MesseCity from 19:30 to 00:00, the Mobidictum Mixer Cologne will welcome people working across game development, publishing, commercial operations, platform technology, monetization, and distribution. The evening is designed as a chance to step away from packed calendars, meet new people, reconnect with industry peers, and continue the conversations that begin across Gamescom week.
Mobidictum Founder Batuhan Avucan has built the Mixer format around a consistent goal: connecting the right people and creating space for meaningful conversations. Previous Mobidictum gatherings in Barcelona have brought together teams from King, Scopely, Nimble Giant, Tilting Point, and Voodoo, with an emphasis on informal networking rather than a full stage program.
The Cologne edition will follow that relationship-first approach, with drinks, food, new introductions, and a short welcome from Mobidictum and Neon.

Why Cologne during Gamescom week
Gamescom remains one of the most important meeting points in the global games industry calendar. In 2025, the event brought together more than 1,500 exhibitors from over 70 countries, spanning 233,000 square metres of exhibition space and welcoming more than 300,000 visitors.
Yet Gamescom is not defined only by what happens in its exhibition halls. For one week, Cologne becomes a city-wide meeting place for developers, publishers, investors, service providers, platforms, and media. Meeting rooms fill quickly, schedules become increasingly tight, and conversations continue through dinners, side events, and informal gatherings across the city.
As Mobidictum explored in its Gamescom 2025 recap, the event continues to bring together a global industry working through major questions around funding, sustainability, distribution, monetization, and player engagement. The show floor may provide the setting for announcements and demonstrations, but many of the most useful business conversations happen away from it.
For mobile game professionals in particular, Gamescom week is a rare opportunity to meet a wide range of international partners in one place. Mobidictum Mixer Cologne is intended to offer a more relaxed environment for those discussions—without the pressure of a tightly scheduled meeting or the noise of the convention floor.

Neon and the growing focus on direct game commerce
Neon joins the event at a time when game publishers are increasingly exploring how they can build more direct relationships with their players.
For many studios, the conversation now extends beyond traditional app-store distribution. Teams are looking for more control over how they sell digital goods, manage global payments, test offers, operate promotions, and build commerce experiences that fit their games and communities.
Neon provides direct-to-consumer infrastructure built specifically for game publishers. Its platform supports web shop creation, checkout solutions, global payments, merchant services, tax handling, fraud protection, compliance, currency conversion, and payouts.
The company offers multiple ways for publishers to sell directly. Neon Shop helps teams launch branded storefronts, while Neon Checkout can be integrated into an existing web experience. Its platform also allows teams to manage offers, catalogue updates, promotions, and shop themes through Neon Console.
This is not just a payment conversation. Direct commerce gives publishers an opportunity to think more closely about player relationships, regional payment preferences, offer design, loyalty, and the wider commercial experience around a game. For teams operating internationally, these areas can become increasingly important as they look for sustainable ways to grow their businesses.
Those themes will be part of the wider discussion at the mixer, alongside mobile publishing, live operations, monetization, user acquisition, and changing approaches to game distribution.
