Riot ushers in a new era for esports activities. The company will now use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Valorant, League of Legends, and Wild Rift esports.
AWS offers a variety of cloud artificial intelligence and cloud learning services. Riot was already using AWS to deliver games and deliver a good gaming experience. Now, the partnership between companies has expanded, and AWS will now be used in Riot’s esports space.
AWS will keep real-time statistics of professional players in Riot games and broadcast them live. Fans will be able to access the statistics of the team or player they are a fan of. AWS will also keep statistics on fan attitudes positively impacting the team’s success. This way, fans will know better what to do to support their team.
Riot and AWS want esports to be as detailed and broad as traditional sports. Just as detailed statistics of a football player’s achievements throughout his career are kept, the statistics of esports players will be accessible similarly.
Audiences will set priorities in the system that Riot and AWS are trying to build. Fans will have a vote on what kind of stats should be prioritized. There will also be events where fans can win prizes. Voting results and more details will be announced in the Valorant Champions broadcasts in September 2022.
Many fans now follow Esports. There are many esports fans, each following the competitions of games that appeal to their taste. In this ecosystem, Riot’s games occupy a very important place. Riot wants to bring innovations to the field of esports, as it has done in many areas so far. Riot is now the first company to use AWS in esports.
