Suicide Squad’s retail sales performance overshadows criticism

The first week of February was left behind with Suicide Squad’s leadership in boxed game sales, which did not get the expected scores from the gaming press.

GFK Entertainment, the renowned German market research company, revealed the best-selling boxed games in the UK for the week ending February 3rd.

Released shortly before the end of the week, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s lead can be attributed to two reasons. Firstly, the game has been expected for a long time, and pre-orders have a high share of this. Secondly, people might not have seen the reviews yet, which seemed to affect the game’s performance in the following weeks.

Other games that entered the Top 20 list were AtlusPersona 3 Reload and Plaion’s Granblue Fantasy: Relink (#15), which received very good reviews, unlike Suicide Squad.

The question of whether Persona 3, which is very popular and has its own audience, will reach a wider audience with Reload has thus been answered. This success of a series that was once “considered unfit” for the West is also very encouraging.
