Developed by Supercell’s London-based studio Space Ape Games, Boom Beach: Frontlines had a soft launch in Canada across iOS and Android devices back in October 2021. The UK studio is now preparing to launch the game worldwide and it already has over 1 million pre-registrations for it.

Boom Beach: Frontlines is a spin-off that takes place in Supercell’s Boom Beach universe, featuring 9v9 battles with two teams competing to capture the enemy base. Players are given a variety of defenses and traps to choose from for defending their base, and they can also use different types of troops, vehicles, and abilities to conquer the enemy base.
The original game was developed and published by Supercell, however, Boom Beach: Frontlines has Space Ape Games at the helm. The video game giant initially bought 62.6% of the London studio for $56.6 million back in 2017. Supercell invested another $37 million in Space Ape Games in July 2022 increasing its ownership to 75% over the UK developer.
Supercell’s highly anticipated 9v9 shooter will soft launch in 19 new countries on August 3, 2022: Turkey, Australia, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, The Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates.
China isn’t included in the list, probably to no one’s surprise. Publishers face never-ending obstacles in getting their games launched in China, However, Supercell and Space Ape Games will continue to push out the game in other countries gradually, hence a China release may be on the horizon. Supercell’s parent company Tencent has been denied gaming licenses on several occasions though.
