Founded by experienced veterans from Peak Games with a mission to bring depth and creativity to casual puzzle games, TaleMonster Games announced that it has raised a $30 million Series A round led by Arcadia Gaming Partners and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The round also included participation from Point72 Ventures and General Catalyst.
TaleMonster’s first game, Match Valley, stands out as a casual title that blends classic puzzle mechanics with elements from hero and tower defense genres. As a result of this innovative combination, the game is delivering exceptional early performance, alongside industry-leading metrics such as an average daily playtime of 100 minutes.
“Our goal is to set new standards for what casual games can offer.
Today’s players are far more experienced than before. This audience, which has been playing mobile games for years, is now looking for more depth in its games. We see a major opportunity to meet this shift in expectations at scale.”
TaleMonster Co-Founder and CEO İrem Sümer

Although the global casual games market reaches more than one billion players, true differentiation has become rare—especially in the puzzle genre—because many titles follow similar design patterns. By stepping outside these patterns, TaleMonster aims to create category-defining games that appeal to broad audiences while offering deeper experiences.
“Companies at this stage are usually strong in just one or two metrics; meanwhile TaleMonster is showing strength across many different areas.”
Akın Babayiğit, Founder and Managing Partner of Arcadia Gaming Partners

Babayiğit emphasized that the founding team has achieved its goal of combining strong monetization with high retention.
“In a category where most teams rely on the same roadmap, choosing a different path takes real courage. TaleMonster never took the easy way; they have built an authentic product and culture that isn’t afraid to challenge the industry.”

Based in Istanbul, the studio was founded by team members who previously developed globally successful titles such as Toon Blast and Toy Blast under Peak Games, which was acquired by Zynga for $1.8 billion. With this new investment, TaleMonster aims to continue delivering surprising and innovative experiences in the world of games.
“We are a team brought together by product passion and a deep love for games. Our mission is to create games that surprise players, challenge them, and evolve alongside them.”
