The Big Festival becomes Gamescom LATAM

The BIG Festival, an annual gaming event held in São Paulo, has integrated into Gamescom LATAM, starting in 2024. The revelation came during CCXP Unlock, outlining the shift in nomenclature and aligning with the renowned global gaming event, Gamescom.

Gamescom LATAM, scheduled for June 26th to 30th, will replicate the format of the original Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany. This transformation results from a collaboration between Koelnmesse, the organizer of Gamescom, BIG Festival, and the Omelete Company, with the support of the Government of the State of São Paulo.

In Latin America, Gamescom LATAM aims to serve as a significant platform for the game industry during the first half of the year. The event will facilitate networking opportunities, collaborations within the regional industry, game launches, and firsthand demonstrations.

Gamescom, established in 2009 and recognized as the world’s largest gaming event, traditionally brings together key publishers, developers, and investors on a grand scale. Apart from Gamescom LATAM, the event also hosts an edition in Asia in Singapore.

Brazil Games announced the event on its official LinkedIn account:

The announcement highlighted the support of Brazil Games. The collaboration involves BIG Festival, Koelnmesse, Omelete Company, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The involvement of Abragames includes participation in B2B curation, bringing international guests, and serving as the official supporter of Gamescom LATAM 2024.
