The first quarter of 2023 is over, and the mobile gaming space has seen new releases, significant updates, and games making a resurgence within the first months.
Football (or Soccer, depending on where you are) mobile games did not make the Top 10 list for the first time in months. The hype around World Cup is finally over, and players tend to follow the trends. FIFA Soccer still outperformed most games, including games like PUBG Mobile or Royal Match.
According to Appmagic, the mobile market intelligence tool, here are the Top-10 most downloaded mobile games of March 2023.
Subway Surfers reigned as the king of March, which comes as no surprise since it has been around forever and had recently celebrated 4 billion lifetime downloads. The game constantly releases new content (Lunar Year update in February and a new season starting at the end of March).
Roblox has lost the crown this month, but the game is doing very well since the game was the second most downloaded game and was the fifth top-grossing mobile game in March. Roblox is looking forward to improving in 2023 as David Baszucki, Founder and CEO of Roblox, said, “2022 was a year of innovation and invention for Roblox”. Players are excited to see the outcome of innovations and inventions.
Candy Crush Saga started the year as the most downloaded mobile game in January 2023 and is still in the top three. The game also grossed nearly $100 million, a little shy of being the top-grossed mobile game in March, Honor of Kings.
DIY Paper Doll made the biggest jump in rankings, going from being 163th to 8th. The avatar maker dress-up fashion game based on the classic paper arts and crafts recently recieved an update which caused the game to surge among its competitors and claim a spot in Top 10.
Miniclip’s newest game Mini Tennis has not made it to Top 10 yet but 8 Ball Pool, another succesful game from the game company managed to get the 9th spot.
Indian Bikes Driving 3D from The Indian game developers Rohit Gaming Studio claimed the 10th spot. Indian Bikes Driving 3D is an action game set in an open world, similar to the one in GTA, where players have to complete dozens of different tasks.
