The founders of the free-to-play multiplayer MOBA game Vainglory raised $2.5 million in funding for their new studio, Bazooka Tango. This round of funding was led by Bitkraft Esports Ventures, with participation from MTG, Mergelane, and others. Daly Do, the founding CEO of Super Evil Megacorp co-founded the studio with Stephan Sherman, the CCO of the company.
Their new project is Vainglory All Stars
Daly will take his previous role in Bazooka Tango while Sherman will be the studio’s chief technology and product officer. Furthermore, their team includes many gaming veterans who worked before with developers and publishers like Riot Games, EA, and Rockstar. Right now the California-based studio has 10 employees only. Their new project called Vainglory All Stars, a three-versus-three mobile multiplayer game that uses Super Evil Megacorp’s E.V.I.L engine.
In a press statement, Daly said the following:
Rather than bringing AAA to mobile, we want to help shape what mobile-first AAA can really mean with new experiences for players. Bazooka Tango has assembled a senior executive team with diverse backgrounds. That’s to create something from the ground-up that will support this next wave of mobile games and the new generation of mobile-first gamers.
Bazooka Tango wants to create original games
In addition to the statement above, The studio stated that they also want to create “new original IP titles”. They want to “establish a portfolio that features a mix of games in successful mobile genres, mobile adaptations of hit PC and console genres, novel cross-genre ‘remixes,’ and ambitious genre-defining titles.” We got short gameplay footage of Vainglory All Stars which looks similar to Supercell’s popular game Brawl Stars.
