Virtuos, a global video game development company, has introduced Virtuos Labs Prague, its latest studio specializing in networking, UI, mobile, and optimization solutions. This expansion provides partners access to online support, DevOps, UI implementation, co-development of mobile and console games, and game performance optimization across platforms.
Virtuos Labs Prague becomes the fourth studio in the Virtuos Labs network, focused on advanced engineering solutions in commercial and proprietary engines. Under the leadership of Jan Herodes, General Manager, who brings over 15 years of experience in mobile game production and live operations, the studio aims to contribute to the growing talent pool in Czechia and offer technical expertise to clients.
The new studio is actively hiring and aims to grow to a team of 20 employees by the end of 2023. Collaborating with existing Virtuos Labs in Lyon, Montpellier, and Warsaw, it will work on projects such as a performance tracking platform, procedural cinematics tool, and UI customization feature.
Jan Herodes is accompanied by Otakar Nieder, Studio Technical Director, with 21 years of experience in game and simulation programming. Virtuos Labs Prague bolsters Virtuos’ European presence, which includes over 500 employees across seven regional studios. This expansion aligns with Virtuos’ global growth strategy, establishing new labs and studios across various locations.
