Leus Capital’s Visua Adds Keyword Rankings, a Weekly App Store Search Tracker for Mobile Studios.
Leus Capital has rolled out a new module inside Visua, its creative and competitive intelligence built for mobile studios. The module, called Keyword Rankings, gives studios a weekly view of how their iOS apps perform in App Store search compared to the competitors they track, across five major storefronts.
Why organic search is back in focus
The logic behind the launch ties back to a broader shift in mobile user acquisition. Paid installs have kept climbing in price, and industry figures cited by Leus put typical iOS game install costs in the $4 to $6 range depending on genre, according to Business of Apps’ 2025 data. On top of that, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework has steadily eroded the signal quality that paid campaigns depend on.
App Store search, by contrast, hasn’t lost ground to that signal loss. Leus frames every ranking improvement on a targeted keyword as an install a studio didn’t have to buy. That is the reasoning behind treating keyword position not as a vanity number, but as a live competitive scoreboard.
What the module covers
Keyword Rankings monitors a studio’s chosen keywords, on iOS, against tracked competitors, across the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Brazil storefronts. Users can switch between apps, markets, and weeks, with every screen re-scoping instantly. The module is built around three main views:
Overview: a weekly snapshot built to answer “what changed since last Monday.” It surfaces a KPI strip (keywords tracked, how many rank in the Top 10 and Top 50, average rank and its weekly change, biggest gainer and biggest drop), plus a full keyword table with color-coded ranks, week-over-week movement indicators, a strength meter, branded-term tags, current #1 owner, and an 8-week sparkline per keyword.

Keyword Detail: a deep dive on a single term, plotting a studio’s rank against every tracked competitor over time (with the axis inverted so #1 sits at the top), alongside a share-of-search leaderboard showing every app ranking for that term in that market and week.

Competitive Matrix: a full grid view with keywords as rows and apps (the studio’s and its competitors’) as columns, each cell color-banded by rank with its own movement indicator. Leus positions this view as a direct way to spot metadata opportunities: gaps in a studio’s column sitting next to a rival’s strong positions.

A deliberate choice: weekly, not daily
Leus chose weekly snapshots over daily tracking on purpose. Daily App Store rank data, the company argues, is mostly noise (algorithm fluctuations, Apple Search Ads spikes, and day-of-week effects), and reacting to it tends to create thrash rather than useful signal. Weekly data is meant to filter that out and highlight only the moves worth acting on.
| Daily tracking | Weekly tracking (Visua) | |
| Shows | Every wobble | Sustained moves |
| Risk | Reacting to noise, constant thrash | Clear signal, fewer false alarms |
| Best for | Live campaign spikes | Deciding what to fix next |
That same philosophy shapes another design decision: trend charts in the module stay locked until four weekly runs have accumulated, roughly a month of history. Rank position and week-over-week movement are visible immediately, but Leus says it deliberately avoids drawing trendlines from just two data points, arguing that premature charts create false confidence.
Availability
Keyword Rankings is live now for Leus Capital’s portfolio studios, covering iOS across the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Brazil storefronts. FAQ
- What is Keyword Rankings in Visua?
A module inside Visua that tracks how iOS apps rank in App Store search for chosen keywords, on a weekly basis, against tracked competitors, across five storefronts: the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Brazil. - Which storefronts and platform does it cover?
The United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Brazil, on iOS. - Why weekly data instead of daily?
Daily App Store rank data is considered noisy, shaped by algorithm jitter, Apple Search Ads activity, and day-of-week effects. Weekly snapshots are designed to filter that out and highlight sustained, actionable moves. - Why are the trend charts locked at first?
Trendlines appear only after four weekly runs, about a month of history, so charts reflect real trends rather than two isolated data points. Rank and week-over-week movement, however, are available from day one. - Who can use Keyword Rankings?
It’s currently available to Leus Capital portfolio studios. Studios outside the portfolio can get in touch with the Leus team. - How does it differ from a general ASO tool?
Keyword Rankings sits inside Visua alongside Leus’s creative and competitive intelligence tools, built around weekly runs as its core unit of time, and scoped specifically to the storefronts and competitors a studio actually tracks.
