French mobile games publisher Voodoo has successfully expanded beyond its hypercasual roots, driven by the strong performance of three titles: Castle Busters, Marble Sort!, and Sand Loop. According to AppMagic’s report, these games represent a new phase in Voodoo’s strategy, combining deeper gameplay systems with stronger in-app purchase monetization.
Castle Busters Leads Voodoo’s Midcore Push
Among the three titles, Castle Busters stands out as Voodoo’s most ambitious move into the midcore segment. The tactical PvP battler has surpassed $14.8 million in in-app purchase revenue and generated more than 19.7 million downloads since its launch in 2025, according to AppMagic.
The game combines destructible environments, squad-based combat, and progression systems typically associated with more complex mobile titles. While Voodoo remains known for its expertise in advertising monetization, Castle Busters relies more heavily on long-term retention systems, battle passes, progression timers, and in-app purchases than the company’s traditional hypercasual portfolio.

Sort Puzzle Games Become Major Revenue Drivers
The report also highlights the success of two puzzle titles, Marble Sort! and Sand Loop, both of which capitalize on the growing popularity of sorting-based puzzle mechanics.
Marble Sort! has generated more than $10.8 million in in-app purchase revenue and accumulated over 13.7 million downloads. The game’s success is based on a simple core concept enhanced by physics-driven interactions that create additional strategic depth and player engagement.
Meanwhile, Sand Loop has produced more than $15 million in revenue from approximately 9.5 million downloads. The title revolves around sorting colored sand into matching containers, blending satisfying visual effects with monetization systems commonly found in hybridcasual games.

A New Chapter for Voodoo
The performance of these three games reflects a broader transformation within Voodoo. Rather than relying primarily on advertising-driven hypercasual hits, the company is increasingly focused on games that combine accessible gameplay with stronger retention and monetization systems.
Marble Sort! and Sand Loop demonstrate Voodoo’s ability to compete within the growing hybridcasual market, while Castle Busters shows the publisher can also find success in more competitive midcore categories. Together, the titles illustrate how Voodoo is adapting its expertise to a mobile market that increasingly rewards long-term engagement and diversified monetization strategies.
