Granada-based game development studio WildSphere, recognized for indie titles like Oxide Room 104 and Timothy vs the Aliens, has teamed up with renowned Spanish rock band Sôber to release the music video for the main song of the upcoming video game Oxide Room 208.
Titled Habitación 208, the song serves as the centerpiece of the soundtrack for the latest installment in the Oxide series developed by WildSphere. The collaboration with Sôber, known for hits such as Diez años and Arrepentido, marks a significant milestone in Spain’s video game industry.
Habitación 208 is the fourth single from Sôber’s upcoming album Retorcidos. Notably, the band was digitally recreated for the game, with their virtual counterparts integrated into its environment using motion capture technology. Carlos Escobedo, Sôber’s lead singer and bass player, will also be featured as one of the playable characters in Oxide Room 208.
The music video, entirely developed by WildSphere, was rendered in real-time using Unreal Engine 5 on next-generation consoles. They utilized cutting-edge technologies such as Nanite, Lumen, and Chaos. The team aimed to create a lifelike experience with dynamic lighting, environmental destruction, and volumetric effects.
Offering a preview of Oxide Room 208, the music video showcases the game’s visuals, characters, and environments, providing insights into the second part of the Oxide saga. Viewers will get a glimpse of the playable characters and the revamped villain, Doc, portrayed by Sergi Carles (TodoJingles). Additionally, Carlos Escobedo will be among the nine playable characters in the game.
