YouTube, the online video-sharing platform, introduced its new in-app feature, Playables, and joined the long list of platforms that offer games to its users. Playables offers a collection of 75+ free games that are available on desktop or the iOS and Android app.
A limited number of users in select markets have been testing Playables since September 23, and it is currently not available to the whole market. Games including Angry Birds Showdown, Words of Wonders, Cut the Rope, Tomb of the Mask, and Trivia Crack can be played in available regions.
Since Netflix’s success, many platforms decided to launch their own in-app gaming services. LinkedIn has introduced competitive gaming to its users in the form of daily challenges. The New York Times’ crossword games have been massively popular since their introduction, Wordle being one of the most played games daily.
