Supercell, the developer of Clash of Clans, invested $2.8 million in the new studio 2UP Games.
2UP Games will work on co-operative mobile games that have high retention like Clash of Clans. Founded by Joe Raeburn and Tim Knauf, the studio aims to bring gamers together through co-op gameplay.
“It’s a privilege to be supporting 2UP Games on their mission to bring players across the world together around co-op gaming. We couldn’t imagine anyone better suited for the task than people as experienced as Joe and Tim,” said Supercell developer relations lead Jaakko Harlas.
Of course, it is not an easy task to get the attention of players around the world and keep them connected to the game. The team says they look forward to the challenges that await them.
Although the firm is based in New Zealand, it has a remote-first model to allow the team to work from anywhere in the world. The studio is currently looking for a senior artist.
