Tom Gillo appointed nDreams CEO, as Co-Founder Patrick O’Luanaigh becomes Chairman

Patrick O’Luanaigh, the co-founder and CEO of nDreams, will step down on June 1st to become Chairman. Incumbent Chief Development Officer Tom Gillo has been appointed as nDreams’ next CEO.

Co-founded with Tamsin O’Luanaigh in 2006, nDreams has grown into a world-leading VR game developer and publisher under Patrick O’Luanaigh’s leadership. O’Luanaigh’s tenure, spanning nearly 20 years, has included multiple award-winning, chart-topping VR games, with releases on every major headset since the advent of modern VR technology.

In 2023, nDreams was acquired by the global, multiplatform gaming and tech group Aonic.

Prior to founding nDreams, O’Luanaigh held roles at Eidos, SCi Games and Codemasters. His credits include classic titles such as Micro Machines V3, Conflict: Desert Storm, Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money.

Tom Gillo is himself an industry veteran of nearly 30 years, including roles at LEGO, Virgin Interactive, Computer Artworks and Codemasters. He also spent a decade at PlayStation’s London Studio where he played a key role in developing PlayStation innovations such as EyeToy, PlayStation Home, Wonderbook and PlayStation VR.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have built at nDreams since Tammy and I rented a tiny office in 2006 and took the plunge.

It has been an amazing, challenging and incredibly rewarding journey. We have achieved so much already, and yet the company still has so far to go, with VR/MR still in its infancy. From a new vantage point as Chairman, I’m excited to see nDreams reach even greater heights under Tom’s capable leadership.”

Incoming CEO Tom Gillo added:

“It’s an honor to succeed Patrick as nDreams’ CEO. He and I go back a long way – all the way to PlayStation Home days. Being on the journey alongside him building nDreams over the past ten years has been the defining chapter of my career to date, and being able to continue that journey and build upon that legacy into the future with the backing of Aonic is both a fantastic opportunity and a real privilege.”
