Freedom Games has announced a $10 million funding round led by Play Ventures. The round also saw investments from the likes of Nashville Capital Network and GFR Fund. Freedom Games will use this revenue to hire more team members and work on wiki.gg, a platform for developers and editors to form a community.

The company was founded by Donovan Duncan and Ben Robinson in 2020 and currently has 37 games in its portfolio. Freedom’s latest title, Coromon, was launched this year in March and received favorable reviews. The turn-based monster-taming game got 85% positive reviews from nearly 2,500 gamers on Steam.

Donovan Duncan, Freedom Games’ CEO and Co-Founder, shared thoughts and feelings about the funding round:

“We couldn’t be more proud to work together. Not only will this enable us to bring even more high-quality indies to fruition and continue growing our platform for creators to share their content, but to also stay committed to our developer-first mindset by continuing to invest in our suite of tools and services for indie developers.”

The company defines wiki.gg as a platform that can adjust to the needs of developers. The platform provides a communication hub between developers and gamers, allowing more game recognition and awareness. There’s already a wide variety of games listed on the platform, which will surely grow along with the new investments.
