Mobile game publisher Miniclip acquired Gamebasics, developer of Online Soccer Manager (OSM). Miniclip hopes to solidify its place in the world of mobile sports games through the acquisition.
Gamebasics will continue to grow OSM with Miniclip
Miniclip acquires Dutch developer Gamebasics. The studio is known for its Online Soccer Manager title. They have 60 staff dedicated to working on the title. The two companies aim to further grow OSM through this partnership.

We were impressed with the team from our first encounter,” said Miniclip CEO Jurgen Post. “Both two companies share a similar culture and a focus on casual games which we believe are key ingredients in helping us to unleash the gamer in everyone. We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate and start this partnership.”

Founded in 2014, Gamebasics will continue to develop the OSM franchise and work on new games that have not yet been announced.
It was announced that Miniclip purchased Ilyon Games for $100 million in January 2020. In addition, the company bought Derby-based developer Eight Pixels Square last year.
