Jeroen Stout, a former studio member, posted on August 23 that Ronimo Games is winding down, expressing regret over the situation and highlighting the progress the team had been making before this turn of events. Dutch news outlets, including Emerce, have disclosed that the official bankruptcy filing occurred on August 22. Despite this, the studio hasn’t made any public statements regarding its status, there are also no updates on its official website or social media platforms.
Ronimo Games bankrupt—I will miss all the good people with whom I worked for the last 4 years. My work the last few months was super interesting and we were getting somewhere good, so its unfortunate it ended here. https://t.co/nZUBstgyUa

Established in 2007, Ronimo Games was initially formed by students who created the original PC version of de Blob before THQ acquired the title. Subsequently, the developers formed Ronimo, debuting with the 2009 release Swords & Soldiers. Their most notable achievement, however, was the creation of Awesomenauts, a MOBA released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was later adapted for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and transitioned to a free-to-play model. The development of Awesomenauts ceased in 2019.
In more recent times, Ronimo Games introduced Blightbound in 2021. Although the studio was reportedly working on an undisclosed project, the future of this project and the fate of the studio’s previously released games remain uncertain in light of the bankruptcy news.
