Founded in 1998 in Krakow, Poland, DRAGO Entertainment initially focused on creating projects for international video publishers as an external contractor. Since adopting a new strategy in 2018, the studio aims to deliver high-quality productions on a global level. Winter Survival is the company’s more recent project, with the newly revealed trailer showcasing enhanced visuals, model fidelity, and improved vistas achieved as Winter Survival transitions from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.
In Winter Survival, players must navigate the challenges of a harsh winter environment, braving sub-zero temperatures, creating shelters, and gathering resources for survival. The game introduces a sanity-testing element as players must maintain mental fortitude in the face of hallucinations and sensory failures.
DRAGO Entertainment has designed three distinct game modes for Winter Survival’s Early Access release, catering to novice and experienced survivalists. In Story Mode, players unravel the mysteries of an abandoned town and its inhabitants. Survivalists separated from their companions can tackle the unforgiving winter tundra, facing apex predators, including a blood-thirsty bear, to stay alive. Coldwave Mode presents the challenge of enduring unpredictable winter conditions, while Endless Mode offers a continuous onslaught of long-haul challenges, encouraging players to use their surroundings strategically.
Winter Survival will initially launch on PC via Steam Early Access on February 28, 2024, with plans for console versions in the future.
