Ultra and CLD Distribution have introduced Ultra Arena, a cutting-edge esports and tournament platform designed to cater to all gamers, whether casual or professional. Created by a team of AAA games industry talent from companies like Ubisoft, Playstation, and Nintendo and supported by CLD Distribution, which owns Smartoys stores and serves as official distributors for major European retailers, Ultra Arena aims to revolutionize the accessibility of competitive gaming.
Scheduled to go live globally on 8th August 2023, after a series of successful closed beta tournaments, the platform aims to simplify the participation process by seamlessly integrating within Ultra’s ecosystem of PC gaming apps, providing a centralized hub that offers tournament organization, prizes, and rewards intuitively.
Titles such as League of Legends, Overwatch 2, CSGO, and PUBG, and games already available on Ultra Games, will be featured in Ultra Arena’s tournaments. Tournament organizers will control the rules, brackets, and reward systems, catering to diverse skill levels. Prize pools may consist of Ultra’s $UOS ecosystem token, digital games, digital collectibles, and even physical licensed products like graphics cards and keyboards, which players can either retain or trade on Ultra’s integrated Uniq Marketplace.
The co-CEOs of Ultra, Nicolas Gilot, said:
“Today, esports beyond the very top professional level quickly becomes a mishmash of tournament platforms, Discord servers, and LFG groups. It’s a major challenge for competitive gamers and excludes casual gamers who’d nevertheless like to compete against similarly skilled players in their favorite games. By offering a convenient and user-friendly hub within the wider Ultra ecosystem, we’re making it easier for players of all skill levels to access tournaments while providing unparalleled opportunities for esports and gaming brands to engage their fans and communities.”
Raphael Pluta, CEO of CLD Group, expressed pride in the partnership, envisioning Ultra Arena as a space where gamers can grow, compete, and have fun in a safe and thrilling environment.
The launch of Ultra Arena follows the successful public release of Ultra Games, the next-generation PC games store, in April 2023. Notably, tournaments can be hosted on Ultra Arena for any suitable gaming title, regardless of its availability on Ultra Games. The platform will receive regular updates, including adding large-scale ongoing leagues for key esports titles. Gamers interested in exploring the Ultra ecosystem can download it by clicking here.
