Crytek is hiring a Chief Publishing Officer (CPO), a new executive role tasked with defining and leading the company’s global publishing strategy. The position will work closely with the company’s COO, Christopher Schmitz, and CTO, Clive Gratton, and will report directly to the company’s Co-CEO.
Per the official job listing, the CPO will oversee a cross-functional publishing organization spanning product leadership, communications, sales, and creative marketing. The remit includes building a unified publishing framework across product strategy, brand marketing, communications, commercial operations, insights, and community engagement, aimed at growing and retaining Crytek’s player base while driving portfolio-wide revenue growth.
The move follows Crytek’s recent leadership expansion, with Hannes Seifert set to join as Co-CEO on January 1, 2026, focusing on game production and publishing.
What Crytek is looking for
The company is looking for a senior leader with 10+ years of experience in publishing, including at least 5 years in games, as well as experience delivering global go-to-market strategies, scaling live-service ecosystems, and using data-informed marketing and insights systems.
The role is listed as Frankfurt (onsite), with relocation support included.
Future plans
After Co-CEO Hannes Seifert’s appointment, Co-Owner and CEO Avni Yerli said:
“By extending our management team, we want to strengthen and further expand Crytek’s position on the market.
In particular, we will drive growth in key global markets with our publishing and game services. The continuous success of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and our ongoing commitment to further development of CRYENGINE form a strong foundation for the future of our company.
