The Mobidictum Mixer tradition began in 2023 in Lisbon during Web Summit, aiming to bring together gaming industry professionals in an intimate, high-quality networking environment. Since then, the series has grown into a recognizable side-event format that connects founders, publishers, investors, and service providers in key global hubs.
This time, Doha became the meeting point.
Although Qatar is not yet widely recognized for its gaming industry, gathering the regional community and professionals attending Web Summit was a strategic and meaningful step. The event hosted around 50 selected industry professionals and was generously supported by Nestwork, a leading office space provider in Doha.
Among the notable attendees were the Chief Business Officer of FunPlus, Chris Petrovic, MJ and AJ Fahmi from Digital Dunes, Chris James, Chairman at Steel Media, and representatives from Invest Qatar. The presence of Invest Qatar highlighted the country’s growing interest in attracting gaming companies and exploring relocation opportunities for international studios.
Mobidictum’s Founder, Batuhan Avucan, commented on the region’s positioning:
“Qatar has a different vision for its games industry compared to its neighbours. I believe over time many studios will consider relocating here and opening companies.”

For Mobidictum, entering the Qatari market marks an important milestone. Hosting a successful mixer in a location not traditionally associated with gaming demonstrates the platform’s commitment to expanding into emerging ecosystems and connecting communities across borders.
This Doha edition proved that opportunity often lies in unexpected places. And with increasing attention toward the GCC region, more announcements from Mobidictum are expected soon.
Stay tuned.
