Niantic may release an unexpected Pokémon game

Pokémon Sleep, which users have been waiting for a long time, may be released unexpectedly shortly. The other day, Niantic released the new Pokémon GO update. When the data miners worked on the update code, they discovered several unexpected references to Pokémon Sleep, a project announced by The Pokémon Company in 2019. It looks like Niantic plans to have Pokémon GO playable alongside Pokémon Sleep.

The Pokémon Sleep code found in Pokémon GO came as a bit of a surprise, as The Pokémon Company has been silent about the project for over two years. The game will functionalize Pokémon GO with a mobile app that monitors sleep behavior using an external device placed under a user’s pillow while providing advice for regulating sleep.

After the announcement at the press conference held in 2019, The Pokémon Company remained silent about the game, although it announced the release date as 2020. The silence of the Pokemon Company has caused many users to think that the project has been silently stopped because the company has announced no news of the postponement or cancellation.

However, The Pokémon Company registered an SSL certificate for Pokémon Sleep last year, revealing that the game is still in the plans.

As we know, the codes on Pokémon GO have been codes for upcoming projects in the past, so this means that Pokémon Sleep can be released in a few weeks or months. However, the integration plan considered between Pokémon GO and Sleep will strengthen the possibility of Pokémon Sleep’s release.
