PlanetPlay and UNICEF to unite gamers for global impact

PlanetPlay, the award-winning not-for-profit platform that channels the power of games into real-world impact, has teamed up with UNICEF to engage gamers worldwide in support of children.

The partnership will see PlanetPlay and UNICEF work together to create scalable, games-led fundraising and awareness initiatives, designed to make it easier than ever for studios, publishers, and players to contribute to children’s causes through gameplay.

The first major initiative under this collaboration will be the PlayForEveryChild PC Games Collection in Support of UNICEF, which will feature a curation of PC games and which launches in October 2026.

PlanetPlay is now calling on game studios, publishers and platform partners to contribute titles and join the Collection, which will be sold exclusively on the PlanetPlay games marketplace.

100% of PlanetPlay’s net profits from the PlayForEveryChild PC Games Collection will be channeled to UNICEF’s work for children, which ranges from education and healthcare programs to climate resilience and emergency response.

A New Model for Games & Global Impact

This partnership marks a significant step forward in the growing engagement with social purpose within video games, recognising the medium as one of the most powerful platforms to reach and mobilise global audiences, particularly younger generations.

PlanetPlay will act as the PlayForEveryChild PC Games Collection’s dedicated integration and delivery partner, providing the infrastructure, storefront, campaign management, reporting and donation transparency needed to activate large-scale games impact initiatives.

The Play for Every Child PC Games Collection offers games studios and publishers of all sizes a meaningful and highly scalable way to support PlanetPlay’s fundraising efforts for UNICEF’s work, enabling broad participation across the industry.

The Collection builds on PlanetPlay’s ongoing Play2Act in-game survey initiative, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Since its launch in 2024, Play2Act has:

  • Engaged 200,000+ players across 190 countries
  • Captured global insights on climate, sustainability and social challenges
  • Contributed data to UNDP’s SparkBlue platform, helping inform policymakers and international organisations.

The PlayForEveryChild PC Games Collection in Support of UNICEF extends this work, moving from insight to action by giving players a direct way to support real-world programmes.

Rhea Loucas, CEO of PlanetPlay, said:

“Games have the power to connect billions of people, and this partnership with UNICEF shows what can be possible when that power is harnessed for global impact. We’re creating a model that makes it simple for studios to get involved, meaningful for players to participate, and impactful for the communities we’re supporting. The PlayForEveryChild PC Games Collection is just the beginning.”

“UNICEF works in over 190 countries to protect the rights of every child; we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive and fulfil their potential. At UNICEF, we recognise that gaming can be a  force for change. Through our new partnership with PlanetPlay, we are hoping to connect with players in meaningful ways to amplify children’s voices while offering simple, accessible ways to the games industry to take action.”
