Andrew Chen, a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), stated on LinkedIn that they are investing $30 million over the next 30 days. Starting in January 2025, Chen will co-host their new program in San Francisco alongside the a16z SPEEDRUN team.
Each startup will receive a $750K investment and join a 12-week program from 01/06 to 03/21, which will include IRL speakers, office hours, personalized coaching, and events. There will also be a Demo Day in front of 500+ angel investors.
The a16z team is looking for some specific startups including:
- B2B/Infra startups focused on AI, 3D, game engines, etc.
- Game studios focused on Web3, VR, AI, Discord, etc.
- Gamified/Playable apps – The next gen of Duolingo, Tinder and similar apps using fun mechanics to drive engagement
- Products at the intersection of gaming and health, defense, and other categories.
There will be a variety of speakers and coaches, including:
- Mark Pincus, Co-Founder of Zynga
- Spencer Rascoff, Co-Founder of Zillow
- Sean Rad, Co-Founder of Tinder
- Nikita Biet, Co-Founder of Gas
- Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz

The a16z team prefers US-based companies, but they have invested in teams from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
