Mike Klubnika, creator of Buckshot Roulette, becomes Platinum Sponsor of Godot Engine

Mike Klubnika, the Estonian developer behind the breakout indie hit Buckshot Roulette, has officially joined the ranks of major supporters for the open-source Godot Engine, committing at the Corporate Platinum sponsor level, a €36,000 per year contribution to the engine’s development fund.

The announcement was made by the Godot Engine team on the project’s official social platforms, welcoming Klubnika as a new member of the development fund and thanking him for what they described as a significant contribution” that will help fuel continued improvements to the engine used by developers worldwide.

Godot is a free and open-source engine popular among indie developers for both 2D and 3D games, offers several tiers of financial support. Corporate sponsor tiers start at Silver (€6,000/year), with Platinum (€36,000/year) placing Klubnika alongside established names such as JetBrains, V-Sekai, and W4 Games in backing the engine’s ongoing growth.

Klubnika’s Buckshot Roulette has become one of the most prominent titles associated with Godot in recent years. Since its release, the game has garnered considerable attention within indie circles for its unique tabletop-inspired horror mechanics and strong sales performance — a topic Klubnika discussed in depth in our interview.

In addition to Buckshot Roulette, Klubnika also launched the hacker-horror title s.p.l.i.t, further building his profile as a creator with a distinct voice in the indie space.
