Game developer and publisher FreePlay has achieved a major milestone by reaching 1 billion downloads worldwide for its portfolio of 18 hyper-casual games, doubling its installations in just one year.

FreePlay, a U.S.-based game developer and publisher, has achieved a major milestone by reaching 1 billion downloads worldwide for its portfolio of 18 hyper-casual games. The company doubled its installations in just one year, with over 500 million downloads by early 2022 and the second 500 million the following year.

FreePlay’s popular titles include Count Masters and Fidget Toys Trading, which have contributed to the company’s success. The company’s CEO, Evgeniy Sidorov, attributes their success to its focus on quality rather than quantity of projects.

FreePlay CEO Evgeniy Sidorov said:

“We saw the trends in the game industry in 2022, and we aimed to find a way to continue growing while maintaining high-quality games. We are pleased that our hard work has been well-received by the gaming community, and the milestone of 1 billion downloads is a testament to that. I am proud of our team and partners for their contributions to our success.”

In 2022, FreePlay tested over 70 hyper-casual projects, with Twerk Race, Snake Run Race, and Stone Grass becoming hits. The company plans to explore hybrid genres and establish an in-house data lab to coordinate analytics, monetization, and marketing efforts to provide developers with deeper expertise.

FreePlay, part of the AIBY Group, operates three internal studios and a publishing division. The company currently collaborates with more than 15 external studios.

The 1 billion downloads mark is a significant achievement for FreePlay, which has established itself as a major player in the game industry. The company is poised for continued growth and success in the future.
