Gearbox Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Texas-based tech firm Captured Dimensions. With this move, the company aims to strengthen its internal development capabilities. The duo did not reveal any amount for the agreement.

Captured Dimensions is a full-service mobile 3D scanning company specializing in photogrammetry, lidar, and structured light scanning of humans, objects, and more. The company has been providing services for the film and video game industry for over ten years and has worked on highly popular movies, including Logan, Black Panther, Alita: Battle Angel, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avatar.

Gearbox Entertainment’s Chief Business Officer, Sean Haran, commented on the recent acquisition:

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Jordan and his team at Captured Dimensions on several projects over the years. This deal brings a wealth of talent into the Gearbox family in several key areas, and I’m excited to welcome them. This acquisition brings incredible technology into the fold for future projects and enables further expansion of offerings to strategic partners across multiple business units.”
