Game studio Lightforge Games has returned with a $15 million investment from its latest Series A funding round. This new investment will be used to make an as-yet-unannounced RPG (role-playing) game.
Series A funding round was led by Bitkraft Ventures. Galaxy Interactive, NetEase, and Dune Ventures joined Bitkraft Ventures. Many other investors were also involved in the round, such as Dreamhaven and 1Up Ventures.
Lightforge Games was founded in 2020 by people who worked as developers at Epic Games and Blizzard Entertainment. The company had previously come to the fore with an investment of 5 million dollars in 2020.
Lightforge Games CEO Schembari said the following about the game they developed:
“Our team is building a game that looks to push the boundaries of the stories and worlds players can create together. In raising this round of funding, and doing so with an amazing set of partners, we’ll be able to continue to expand the team to meet our ambitious goals.”
The company seems to be ambitious about the new upcoming RPG game. Details of the subject have not been shared yet, but based on the explanations, it is possible to say that a social-oriented RPG is planned. Moritz Baier-Lentz from BITKRAFT Ventures adds:
“The Lightforge team’s credentials speak for themselves, but their vision really came to life for us when we had a chance to look behind the scenes and see the amazing progress that the team had made in such a short time.”
