Microsoft will join other major game publishers such as Sony, Ubisoft, and Take-Two Interactive in increasing the prices of its first-party games for the Xbox Series X and S. Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield are among those games, and they will cost $69.99 beginning 2023.

While the prices will rise starting in 2023, the company also noted that regional pricing may differ. No specifics for other countries have been given yet.
A Microsoft spokesperson told IGN the following;
“This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles. As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.”
Previously, Sony increased the price of the Playstation 5, however, Microsoft has stated that it has no plans to raise the prices of consoles to match that of the Playstation 5. Later in September, CEO of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer reiterated that Xbox had no plans to raise the prices of consoles.
However, in October, Spencer spoke somewhat differently;
“We’ve held price on our console, we’ve held price on games and our subscription. I don’t think we’ll be able to do that forever. I do think at some point we’ll have to raise some prices on certain things.”
According to IGN, Xbox declined to comment on potential console price increases.
