Coin Master developer Israeli gaming company Moon Active Ltd., announced the acquisition of the mobile game company Melsoft.
Although the terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet, the value is estimated to be over $100 million.
Melsoft, which has created popular games such as My Cafe and Family Island, has revenue estimated at $160 million a year. The company currently has 240 employees, most of whom are based out of Minsk, Belarus and Nicosia, Cyprus.
Meanwhile, Moon Active’s flagship game, Coin Master, was shown as the fourth highest-earning mobile game in the world for 2020, after surpassing $ 1 billion in revenue. Moon Active’s revenue in 2019 exceeded $500 million and closed the year with significant profits.
“The company plans to grow and expand its portfolio by developing new games and by making acquisitions,” said Moon Active founder and CEO Samuel Albin. “Our goal is to become the most successful mobile gaming company in the world. Besides the significant purchase of leading games, Melsoft is an amazing company with top-level human capital and is undergoing massive growth.”
Moon Active, founded in 2011, has more than 650 employees, most of them at Tel Aviv headquarters. The company has doubled its team in 2020, hiring more than 350 new employees. In line with its ongoing growth plan, the company also plans to hire new employees in 2021.
