Nacon announced yesterday that it has acquired developer Daedalic Entertainment for $60 million. The two companies are collaborating on the upcoming Lord of the Rings: Gollum game.

As reported by Nacon, the company will acquire 100% of the IPs, including the Deponia and Edna & Harvey series, as well as the voting rights of Daedalic. He added that Daedalic’s current leadership team would be able to act with a high degree of autonomy during the studio’s development and release phases.

Nacon CEO Alain Falc gave the following words in his statement;

“We knew, through our current collaboration on Gollum, that Nacon and Daedalic share the same values and the same objectives to deliver unique experiences to gamers. Therefore, it seemed logical to go further together, and we’re extremely happy of this acquisition. It represents a significant step in Nacon’s strategy.”
