Spiral Up states that its team has experienced names in the Chinese market. As the second-biggest market, the company offers to connect indie games with the US and Europe, along with the tricky Chinese market. The team trusts its network and ensures developers that their games will be highlighted by influencers on popular websites, such as Bilibili and Weibo.
Aldric Chang, CEO of Spiral Up Games, shared thoughts about the Chinese video game market:
“Marketing a game in China is not quite as straightforward. You need to be able to navigate the cultural sensitivities and reach out to the Chinese influencers and press, which remains challenging to publishers who don’t have roots in the region. Yet, this is necessary if you want to expose your game to this massively growing market. We have the ability, experience, and means to do so. Not many publishers can claim that.”
The team has also recently announced on Twitter they’ll be at Gamescom Asia, encouraging developers to introduce themselves.
The news came from GamesIndustry, as Spiral Up Games has three upcoming games, all with the RPG tag: Wandering Sword, which can currently be wishlisted on Steam, along with Affogato, and Back to the Dawn, both with playable demos. All three games are planned to be launched in 2023.
