Ubisoft has announced that support for Hyper Scape will be discontinued.

Ubisoft has announced that it will end the development of the first-person shooter Hyper Scape and shut the game down on April 28. Initially released in 2020, Hyper Scape is a multi-platform battle royale game where up to 100 players compete to be the winner.

The company left the following message to the community in the closing announcement;

“We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey. We will be taking key learnings from this game into future products.”

In Ubisoft’s statement, no information was provided why the development of the game was terminated or closed.

Executive producer Graeme Jennings, creative director JC Guyot, art director Mickael Labat, game director Thomas Simon, and technical director Thomas Félix all departed Ubisoft early last year to establish their own studio, Monster Closet.

While the last news update shared on the official site before the cancellation news of the game was published in April of 2021, the game’s Twitter account has not been active since June of last year.
