Developed and published by Devotion Interactive, Climber Animals: Together reached a 40,000-player peak and secured a Top 20 position on Steam’s Global Top Sellers, marking a significant commercial turnaround for the 2024 release.
The achievement represents a rare commercial resurgence for a title that, since its initial 2024 launch, had largely maintained a very small active player base. By developing a proprietary publishing infrastructure to navigate the Chinese ecosystem directly, the studio successfully re-engaged global discovery algorithms, propelling the game to Steam’s worldwide charts.

Market Entry via Independent Infrastructure
A critical factor in the game’s performance was Devotion Interactive’s decision to bypass traditional regional co-publishers. The studio instead opted to establish its own localized infrastructure—a process involving significant capital investment and a multi-month research phase aimed at mastering the complexities of the Chinese market.
This “self-built” approach allowed the studio to maintain direct control over its growth strategy, ultimately reversing the trajectory of a title that had previously struggled with near-zero concurrent user counts for over 18 months.
Serdar Baran Ateş, Head of Publishing at Devotion Interactive, revealed the 30-day reporting window, which the title achieved the following:
- 2,000,000+ copies sold.
- Peak Concurrent Users (PCCU): Nearly 40,000 players on Steam.
- Social Reach: Over 200 million video views and 10 million likes on Chinese social media platforms.

At its peak during this period, Climber Animals: Together reached the Top 5 on China’s Top Sellers list. This visibility has transformed the project from a localized success into a competitive international product.

“Alongside our global publishing operations, we’re always looking for games with real potential in China.” said Serdar Baran Ateş.
