Finnish Game Studio Social First, the developers behind Nexus Station, have announced the acquisition of the GamerPay.gg platform, a real-money marketplace for in-game assets.
GamerPay currently operates as a marketplace for Counter-Strike 2 skins, a global billion-dollar business. The move unites the marketplace’s proven technology and community trust with the studio’s growth, setting the stage for a new era of secure, player-driven economies.
The global trade of in-game items on grey markets is a multi-billion-dollar industry, underscoring players’ appetite for real-world value in gaming. Yet these unregulated channels often expose users to fraud and unfair practices.
Gamerpay offers a secure, transparent alternative – providing verified transactions and clear pricing and unlocking new revenue opportunities for developers and publishers.
“We’re proud to welcome GamerPay under the Social First umbrella and continue its mission of providing secure, trusted trading for players.
We’re excited about the opportunities this unlocks for our Nexus Station players, but also of course the opportunities for secure, real-world value in gaming in general.
The GamerPay platform can be expanded into comprehensive Direct-to-Consumer payment services, and we aim to build it into a service any game company can use for providing in-app purchases to their customers outside traditional storefronts.”
Kim Soares, CEO of Social First

“Since day one, GamerPay has been about creating trust and transparency – making it safe and simple to trade digital items of real value.
Joining Social First marks an exciting new chapter. They share our belief in building a marketplace that extends beyond just CS2 and aligns with our vision of a fair, player-first economy. Most importantly, they share our values when it comes to caring for players and our community.
Together, we can bring that philosophy to even more games and players worldwide. I’m incredibly proud of what our small team has built, and even more excited to see GamerPay grow into something bigger under the Social First umbrella.”
Morten Byskov, Co-Founder of GamerPay

The marketplace will continue to operate as usual, with all user accounts, balances, and listings remaining intact. Existing customers can expect the same secure transactions and responsive support they’ve always enjoyed.
With additional resources and long-term investment, Social First aims to refine processes and create a better experience for existing and new customers going forward.
