Homa Games is partnering with GameAnalytics to find the best Arcade Idle games in July. Registrations are now open.
Hyper-casual publisher Homa Games HOMAJAM series with a game jam dedicated to Arcade Idle, a new genre whose main exponents are games like Harvest It, Craft Island, and Farm Land. Developed over the last few months, the high-potential subcategory is a unique combination of hyper-casual and Idle genres.
Arcade Idle takes idle and adventure arcade’s main attributes to create hybrid games with a Hyper-casual stamp and attractive metrics. In this idle subgenre, the goal is to gather resources to get rich, extend a territory, and discover the world. Therefore there is often an adventure-like feeling in the games. By removing all complexity from resource mining games but preserving its core ability to engage, Arcade Idle games achieve low CPIs but strong playtime metrics that can reach 30+ minutes. Simple game mechanics are at the core, and the incorporation of a playable character enhances playtime as players are more active.
After partnering with Facebook Audience Network for its previous jam, this time Homa Games is joining forces with GameAnalytics, one of the most used tools in mobile game development, to provide participants with the best resources to evaluate their prototypes. All participants will be invited to create Arcade Idle prototypes with the aim to obtain the $250K Grand Prix, a one-year access to GameAnalytics new market insights tool GameIntel, and attractive publishing opportunities with Homa Games. $5K prizes are guaranteed for submissions presenting the best CPI, playtime, and retention metrics.
As in the previous HOMAJAM held in January, Homa Games welcomes both novice and experienced game creators. “We strongly believe that game jams make a lot of sense in Hyper-casual—both of them are spaces of stimulating creativity and passion for games!” says Lolita Suleimanova, Lead Marketing, and Communication at Homa Games. “We are addicted to building and nurturing communities and promoting peer support among them, and our previous events proved that game jams are capable of doing exactly that.”
The opening ceremony will be held on June 28th, and participants will have a month to develop their prototypes and submit them on July 28th. As in previous jams organized by Homa Games, participants can expect a good deal of resources and educational materials. Industry experts will share best practices and trends to help participants leverage their game.
Registrations are now open until June 30th. To register and access the full agenda and prize categories, visit HOMAJAM Arcade Idle’s official webpage.
